5 Tips Foreign Students Should Know in the UK

On a budget? Finding cheap stuff? Looking for discounts?

You got it! Continue reading to help you to save some bucks and get the extra scoop of ice cream.

1. UNiDAYS App – You can find many good deals in this application especially for students. Student discount up to 50% includes having a meal in a restaurant, shopping and transportation such as National Express.

REMEMBER to check if there is any discount from time to time to enjoy more deals!

2. Trainline app – A leading app in Europe which could help you to find your train and coach quickly and easily. You can check which (train and coach) is the cheapest way to travel and compare the travel duration easily.

If there are last minute changes, remember to approach the ticket counter at least 15 minutes before the departure time of your train (additional charges).

REMEMBER to book your tickets earlier as they are cheaper!

3. National Express – Catching a coach with National Express? Use their designated National Express app instead of Trainline. Key in the details of your trip and buy it either on their website or app to avoid any extra charges (Not all the time).

4. Monzo app – This is a digital, online bank in the UK.

If you’re studying for a short period and not allowed to open an account in the UK, you can apply for an account through this app. Get your bank card within a short period and start paying with it without any extra charges.

5. Airbnb – You can try to chat with the host and ask whether is there any student discount for your bookings. If you’re lucky enough, you get to save a few bucks!

My friends just saved £45 for their accommodation in Edinburgh. So, don’t be shy to ask for a student discount in the UK!
