1. No water hose in the washroom.

This is strange for us because we always use water hose to wash in Malaysia. However, we can only use toilet paper to clean after doing our ‘business’ in the UK.

2. We can drink water straight from the bathroom tap.

In Malaysia, we can’t see sign as below in the washroom. We don’t find it disgusting here as we drink water while we bath or doing our ‘business’. However, we find it really dirty for doing this back in Malaysia.

3. Never meet fan and air conditioner.

We do not even have a chance to see a fan and air conditioner neither at hostels, restaurants nor shopping malls for 3 months in the UK. But it is everywhere in Malaysia! We couldn’t imagine how life would be without these 2 ‘essentials’ in Malaysia which is really crazy!

4. Security.

Everyone is accessible to the university in the day time and it is still safe in the university. In Malaysia, there will be security guards at every main entrances of the university.

5. Facilities.

We could simply lend a laptop and camera equipment in the UK, however, we need to submit a request one week before being able to borrow the camera equipment back in Malaysia. Everything is secured and perhaps Malaysian lecturers are more conservative on believing student behavior. It is also impossible to lend a laptop in Malaysia.
